Are audio pirates & cammica Chinese companies?

audio pirates is a project by three friends who have lived for HiFi products for 20 years. Robin and his wife Beryl are Chinese with their own factory and development office, Sebastian is German and takes care of product management, marketing and sales. Together they are the Audio Pirates, who have set themselves the goal of offering really good products with the best price/performance ratio. audio pirates & cammica Europe GmbH is a company registered in Germany and is owned by Sebastian Korinth & Petra Rosenplänter.

Who develops the products?

We either develop our products ourselves or we buy products that we then rework until they meet our quality standards. All technical tests are carried out in China and the design is adapted in Germany and the sound properties are evaluated and improved if necessary. Many of our products contain European know-how. We use the best European suppliers, especially for technologies and key components.

Do you do drop shipping?

No, drop shipping means that you buy Chinese products "off the shelf" that have generally not been adapted for the European market. You notice this in user interfaces, for example. Often the translations are poor or some functions are not sufficiently developed.

In addition, with drop shipping, no one usually pays for guarantees or damages. Another point is that no customs duties are paid and licensors get nothing. In the end, it is an unethical business that also damages the economy as a whole.

What about the warranty?

We offer a 2-year guarantee on our electronic products, including active speakers, and a 5-year guarantee on cables and passive speakers.

What happens in the event of damage?

You've probably heard that smartphone batteries, for example, get too hot and then cause damage. We have product liability insurance for such damage, which will cover the costs for you in the event of a claim.

Can you always trace your supply chains?

Basically yes. We can trace our supply chain back to the component suppliers without any gaps. It is difficult with raw materials that are in a battery, for example, because Asian battery manufacturers do not provide supply chain data. Manufacturers of electric vehicles, for example, have the same problem.

Can I try audio pirates products before buying them?

audio pirates products that you buy online are subject to the Distance Selling Act. This means that you can easily buy the item you want and - if, contrary to expectations, it does not meet your requirements - send it back after testing and you will get your payment refunded.
